It’s a residency and recurring shows kind of week in Minnesota, which is what I am going to riff on first here in my roundup of shows.
Saltydog wraps up its Mondays in February residency at Bent Paddle Brewing in Duluth tonight, starting at 6 p.m. Kaylee Matuszak is the special guest.
Geoffrey Fischbein hadn’t announced the guests this week for Only Every Monday at Green Room in Uptown Minneapolis, but the lineups have been very talented and the music starts at 7 p.m. It’s free.
TWINE celebrates the birthday of frontman Will Effertz at their Wednesday Bunker’s residency in the Minneapolis North Loop. They have moved things up a half hour to a 9 p.m. start.
Will Effertz’ birthday falls on Wednesday this week, which happens to also be known as TWINEsdays at Bunkers in Minneapolis North Loop. Also Wednesday, Pert Near Sandstone’s J Lenz hosts his monthly Lenz & Friends gig at 331 Club at 9 p.m.; and, out in actual Sandstone, which is pert’ near the halfway point between Duluth and the Cities, the Mahon brothers, Owen and Jacob, play Sandrocks at 6 p.m. While this one isn’t a recurring show, I couldn’t resist the urge to place this one here. Many of us all taken pictures of the Sandstone sign on I-35 in reference to Pert, and Sandrocks has been hosting a lot of music lately, I’ve noticed).
Pert Near Sandstone hosts its annual two-night Winter String Band Gathering at Turf Club Friday and Saturday, with Dig Deep and Katey Bellville (down in the Clown Lounge) Friday and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Feeding Leroy (also down in the Clown Lounge) on Saturday. The show starts at 8 p.m. both nights.
