Mcbaise will head to the recording studio in early July to start recording its next (and fourth) LP, according to a post today on the London-based band’s Instagram account.
There isn’t much else to say about the album at this point, other than check out the video that was posted with the note. It features the main antagonist behind the Mcbaise project, the illustrator/musician McBess, playing bass over a quite chill and synthy track that we should all hope ends up on this next album.
If you haven’t already checked out the interview that I did with him back in February – and published in late May ahead of his performance in Paris – please do so. Here is a link to that piece. You’ll want a little time to do so, but there are lots of links to the music of Mcbaise. All of the tracks I linked are quite good, for that matter, and they only scratch the surface of music that the project has already produced at this point.
Back in February, he said there was another album planned, but he couldn’t say when he’d have time to work on it. He is a busy man, involved with the stoner metal band The Dead Pirates, a record label Dirty Melody Records, two stores in London and Berlin that sell his art and clothing line, and he has other illustration work. He also hinted back in February that he may soon be free to devote more time to his music.
Thankfully that time has arrived.
